Philippe Monneveux is Research Management Officer at the International Potato Center (CIP) in Lima, Peru. He is in in charge of managing the participation of CIP in the Roots, Tubers and Bananas (RTB) and the Dryland Systems CGIAR Research Programs.

Philippe Monneveux has a PhD in Crop Physiology from the University of Montpellier, France. He worked as Professor in Genetics and Breeding at the College of Agronomy of Montpellier (SupAgro) and gave lectures in the National Institute of Agronomy of Alger, Algeria, and the National College of Agronomy of Thies, Senegal. He also worked as Scientist in the Wheat and the Maize program at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) in Mexico, and served as an expert for the International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna, and has been subprogram leader and product manager of the Generation Challenge Program.

He is author of more than hundred publications in the areas of genetic resources and diversity, abiotic stresses tolerance and agronomy and cropping systems and co-editor of several books.
