Dr. KH Anantha is Scientist – Watersheds, Resilient Dry land Systems, International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Patancheru, Telangana, India. He  obtained his Ph. D degree in Economics from the University of Mysore through Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore, India.

Dr. Anantha has more than 5 years of research experience in the areas of integrated watershed management, economics of dry land agriculture, gender and rural livelihoods, institutions and policies. He has several publications in peered review journals on groundwater exploitation, adaptation strategies, watershed management, gender, institutions and policy issues as well as extension systems. He was part of the team which received ICRISAT's prestigious Doreen Margaret Mashler Award for outstanding partnership during 2011. He is actively engaged in several projects which intends to address the emerging problems in dryland agriculture of the semi-arid tropics.
