Dr. Karin Reinprecht is the Gender Coordinator for CRP Dryland Systems working to integrate gender in all research activities to enhance the development impact CRP Dryland Systems research. She holds a Dr. Phil. degree in African Studies and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Vienna, a masters degree in International Studies from the Vienna Diplomatic Academy. She was trained as Financial and Industry Analyst by Chase Manhattan Bank in London. She is a certified Management Trainer from the renown Malik Management Institute St. Gallen and is licensed as a Management Consultant in Austria.
Dr. Karin Reinprecht has been working over the past 20 years as an independent consultant in economic development, including finance and organization development. She initiated and elaborated a gender audit tool for ILO, aiming to specifically enhance opportunities for women entrepreneurs, as well as an ILO guide for creating an enabling cultural environment for development, publishing several articles on the subject.
Other publications included a case study on a systems approach in a consulting capacity for a municipality in South Africa. In her work as strategy consultant, she developed several gender strategies, including one for UN Women in occupied Palestinian territory. She has carried out numerous gender audits, gender analyses, gender (baseline) studies and consulted on gender mainstreaming and integrating gender in indicators, budget, and organisational processes.
