Dr. Krishna Reddy Kakumanu is an Agricultural Economist, working as regional researcher, with 6 year of experience in water management

He holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Justus Liebig University, Giessen, Germany.

He is an agricultural economist and currently working as Regional Researcher at International Water Management Institute, Hyderabad, India. He has completed his PhD from Justus-Liebig University, Germany focusing on economics of conjunctive water use under subsidized electricity regime. He has wide experience on the economics of climate change impact assessment and adaptation in agricultural and water sectors in India. Krishna is constantly working on various climate change projects which were implemented in Krishna and Godavari river basins. He has rich knowledge in project management and wide experience in field experimentation through stakeholder’s integration. He has 6 years of research experience and his results were published in various research papers in international journals, books and technical reports.

He has authored and co-authored more than 25 peer-reviewed publications, including book chapters, conference papers, etc.

His has received fellowship from German Academic Exchange Program (DAAD) from 2004-2008.

His current research interests focus on management of water resources to the climate change/variability through various adaptation strategies.
